NZVIF was established by the New Zealand government in 2002, to help build a vibrant venture capital market in New Zealand. We are based in Auckland and governed by a private sector board of directors who provide oversight to our investment management team. All our investments are made either through privately managed venture capital funds, or alongside experienced angel investors who are investing into New Zealand-originated, high-growth potential companies. We conduct extensive due diligence on all our prospective fund managers and co-investment partners before making an investment commitment. We only invest with those fund managers and co-investors which we have assessed as having the strong potential for investment success. NZVIF’s approach is to invest in line with industry standard terms. Post investment, we take an active role in monitoring fund activity and tracking investment performance.
